Yorkshire roots

We can trace our UK history back to Yorkshire in the 1930s when we were known as APS.

Shortly after APS' 50th anniversary, in 1986, a 2nd site in Wyke, near Bradford was opened to expand production.

APS was acquired by Rhône-Poulenc (a French chemical and pharmaceutical company) in 1989.

The beginnings of APS Berk

Berk, a success in its own right selling a range of branded and unbranded generics, merged with APS in 1991, creating one of the largest generic companies in the UK.

In 1996 APS Berk was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd and we changed our name in 2004 to Teva UK Limited. For Teva this represented a valuable entry into the UK market.

Teva UK Limited

In 2006 Teva Pharmaceutical Industries acquired the Ivax Corporation, bringing together Teva UK Limited's generic portfolio with a wider variety of products and new capabilities in respiratory care.
